Sketching is all about being loose, free and easy and Derwent Sketching pencils couldn’t be easier to use; just 3 simple degrees HB, 2B and 4B, to cover all your drawing needs.

They have a wide strip so you can quickly rough-out a loose sketch, or capture a passing cloud before it disappears! Once you’ve done that you can sharpen your pencil to a fine point to add the all important detail to your drawing!

Feeling moody? Look no further, Derwent Onyx is our blackest graphite pencil, even darker than a 9B!

Great on its own for drawing really moody pictures or use it with other graphite media like Graphic or Sketching pencils to add dense shade and tone.

We have created two tones, medium and dark, but it is easy to build up darker shades if you need them by increasing the pressure. The wide strip can be easily sharpened and will hold a fine point, perfect for capturing the detail in drawings!

Wow! Graphite and colour in one pencil, how surprising is that? Graphitint is a unique range of tinted graphite that combines the drama and creativity of pencil drawings with a hint of soft, subtle colour.

Used dry Graphitint produces just a suggestion of colour but add water to wash out the lines and make the colour much more vibrant.

Everything about Derwent XL Graphite is big; big blocks and even bigger possibilities. You can create a wide variety of textures and effects with these generous graphite blocks; subtle blending, fine lines and deep tonal work are all possible.

Charcoal just got bigger and more beautiful! These blocks have all the qualities of charcoal that you love in a chunky XL form, combine that with rich natural colours and you've got an artist’s dream!

The blocks come in 6 muted shades from Sanguine and Violet to Sepia and Ochre. Naturally water-soluble you can use them on a damp surface and release lots of colour really quickly and build up layers of different colours as you go.

Pastels are usually all about getting your hands dirty but not with Derwent Pastel Pencils. The wide colour strip is powdery and soft so mixing and blending is really easy and because it's encased in wood you get the pastel effect without the mess (if you can resist using your fingers to blend!)

A classic drawing pen, the Derwent Line Maker features a high quality Japan
nib that glides effortlessly over the page, producing smooth free flowing
lines. Filled with top quality water based pigment ink, the tone is pure, rich
and strong. Our range is enhanced by the addition of Sepia and Graphite
coloured inks that can be layered up to build tone.

Graphik Line Painters are a fine line paint pen that gives immense depth of colour, even on dark backgrounds. A fusion of fine lines and opaque paint make these unusual pens a must for illustrators, artists and designers. The free-flowing water based paint is highly pigmented, allowing for layers of contrasting colours, paint runs and splashes, fine lines and colour blending. Whilst wet, the paint is water-soluble, once dry the paint is waterproof and permanent (on porous surfaces such as paper and untreated wood).

Warning the ink is permanent once dry. If you do get it on your clothing keep the area wet until you can wash it properly (not guaranteed, but it's the best bet!).
